Some of the travel packing checklist is way too much

I used to search online and find travel packing lists complied by travel experts. I always find the items way too comprehensive. They suggest shampoos, hair dryer, soap, compass, alarm clock, and even door lock. I find some of the lists funny. You’re going to travel, whether for vacation or for business, not going to camp out. I’ve even read packing lists that include flashlight, headstrap, extra batteries (bulbs?), knife, screwdrivers, pliers, scissors… The list goes on. The experts even claim that you can pack and travel light with one bag. How do you pack all that stuff in one bag?

Unless you’re camping out in Europe, anywhere you stay will provide shampoo and soap. I really don’t get the part of bringing knife, screwdrivers, pliers, or scissors. If you were packing for college, then I’d agree with that list. If you’re spending one week in Europe, Asia, or any parts of the world, I’m not quite sure about these items.
